The AMD Ryzen 5 3600 processor (3.6 GHz / 4.2 GHz) is one of the first PC processors to be etched in 7 nm and to support the PCIe 4.0 interface. The third-generation Ryzen, codenamed Matisse, impresses with 6 cores and 12 threads, a base frequency of 3.6 GHz that can be increased to 4.2 GHz and 32 MB of L3 cache and only 65W of TDP!

Bought to upgrade my motherboard bios for my 5600X, I had fun doing some gaming tests on it... my i5-10100F is out!!! and this cpu is not far from an 11th gen. I was quite impressed, so I set up a small gaming configuration for my son based on this cpu and a GTX1650, discovering that this gpu limited this cpu ... really a good gaming cpu that should be able to power more than my RX6600
That's what you could say about this processor, thinking of a SCI-fi film with a well-known franchise. Without doubt the best value for money in terms of power for an AMD, but don't forget that whatever your card, the video part won't work... you have to buy a graphics card even if your card has one built in. For all that, given the price and performance, building a basic configuration is beyond comprehension if you add an NVME SSD and a small RX6XXX, it's a good product for gamers, office use and video production that's more than respectable and decent...The only problem for me is and remains the ventilation, exit the AMD oem ventirad, opt for a brand ventirad or like me a simple little "watercooling" to avoid the summer temperatures in my island, to provide a constant temperature throughout the life of the processor and enjoy its power.
Processor still performing well today and above all it manages the pcie gen4 performance levels are equivalent to the ryzen 5 5500.

All cores at 100% usage.
Just below 4000 htz for 50 degrees.
In game, it does not exceed 50% of use in 4k on assetto corsa.
Only the 3200 ram limit could put you off. But the more it's really usable and notable...
For a setup gamer under 1000 euro which passes all the plays in 4k has 144 htz without broncher, it is still very easy.
I've done a few benchmarks and run a few apps and games, and it's running well on the whole.
In any case, it's a good value for money.
Very good processor, no surprises. 12 logical cores and more than 20000 points on cpubenchmark. All this for a TDP of 65W. This is the bulk version of the processor ? don't forget to add a fan as it was the case for me (thanks to the advice of the seller of LDLC Bourg-en-Bresse)
CPU with added ventirad nothing to say perfect on the whole, very good score 3D mark, very consistent with the graphics, no jerks on the graphics of 3D Mark it is very clear
