    A good onemesh extender

I bought this extender to solve my wifi problems in a long flat with a 45 wall where my speed varied from 500mbps to 3 mbps depending on the room and the devices. I have associated it with an ax55 router. The whole thing works well with a single SSID and the box is relatively small compared to mesh solutions. It seems to be stable but I still have little experience. I now have a throughput always between 200 (connection to the extender) and 500mbps (connection to the router) with a latency of 11ms max (my latency out of the box is 7ms). The placement of the device is important and can vary the speeds by 50%. Overall happy with cheaper solution than full mesh.

    Disappointment

Very disappointed. Connected one floor above my orange box, the repeater gives me 150 Mbs at 1 meter, while I have more than 200 Mbs if I connect directly to the box on the floor below. Worse, at 5 meters, I'm down to 80 Mbs while the box (which is at the other end of the house, still one floor below) still sends me 100mbs!
Finally, I used to use an AC7 router in the same place, and despite lower advertised rates (older generation), it beats the repeater everywhere...
In short, I send back the repeater, as much to take again my router AC7 that worked better.
