Mid-side audio recording
Built into the Am7 microphone, the Mid-Side design features a directional centre mic (Mid) that captures signal directly from the front and a bi-directional side mic (Side) that captures sound from both sides. A three-position switch allows you to choose between a 90° angle (to emphasise sounds from the centre) or 120° (for a wider image, incorporating ambient and room sounds).
A third setting, called "M-S", allows you to record "raw" audio and adjust the stereo width later, using the iOS app Zoom Handy Recorder. The front panel mic gain knob makes it easy to set an optimal input level, while the three level LEDs ensure clear, well-defined sound without saturation.
