Every Ten Years!
I was very hesitant between getting an M1 Pro, Max or Classic, I finally opted for this model.16GB of ram> Virtualize other OS> Run Illustrator, Motion, After Effect, Final Cut and more when needed on some projects.8 Cores CPU version / 8 Cores GPU> Who can do more, can do less> A little extra boost for Encoding and FX, 3D or Dev.512 GB of storage> Install EVERYTHING I need, keep some commonly used folders in front of me and have enough space to work on a project. GB of storage> Install EVERYTHING I need, keep some commonly used folders in front of me and have enough space to work on a project.I didn't hesitate much between a MacBook Air or Pro M1.The difference being a small percentage of autonomy and especially the TouchBar, I chose to spend wisely.Same CPU and GPU power.Ram at max.512 GB of storage for System/Software/Data useful baseFor DATA storage I opted for:- iCloud of 2.2TB- SSD Samsung T7 Touch 2TB- WD MyCloud 3TB coupled with WD MyPassport Ultra 3TBThe whole synchronized does the real job of storing Time Machine, Photos, Digital Creation, Documents...For the Pro M1 Pro or Max version of a MacBook, whose budget is not the same (>3400€ for a configuration worth the investment), it will be for later. My daughter will be 9 years old and will already be in a daydream with my old iMac 2011 Quad Core with 16GB of ram, SSD, WiFi AC and BT 4.0 running on MacOS X15 and soon on Montery with a METAL compatible CG.That gives me time to get into some of my projects, and in 4-5 years my daughter will be able to inherit this MacBook Air M1 for College, when I will need more, when the M1 technology will be broken in and 64bit will be fully exploited from the software.
