For a student, it's really good.
It's reliable, fast enough and you have the whole Mac environment and tools at your disposal.
Very practical for serious work without worries.
I'd recommend a full case to avoid a lot of drama.
Pleasant to the touch and lightweight. Pleasant to use for photography and other purposes. I use it mainly for photos.
Being afraid of the software break between Windows and MacOS, I was reluctant, but after a month of use... Top notch!!! Even if the gaming part isn't top-notch, I keep my Windows almost exclusively for gaming, and even then... I've got my console, the audio and video quality is top-notch, the software is better than Windows, everything is automated and the hardware is more advanced than Windows computers. A MacBook can be expensive compared to a Windows PC, but the quality is there. I do everything on it, even my TV, I hardly ever turn it on any more because I prefer this computer to my TV, and the processing speed is off the scale. I've been learning something new every day since I started using this device. Performance is also top-notch, both on battery and mains power (up to 140W), whereas my Windows computer had less and the voltage had to be fixed. Apple always delivers quality.
