This is a very bad strap, after playing with it for 2 weeks it started twisting more on one side more than on another.

Necessary but fragile

It is (fortunately) actually much more comfortable, and if properly adjusted it holds really well without any particular discomfort. I was able to do very (too) long VRChat sessions without any particular pain.
Unfortunately the quality is not good, the plastic looks really fragile, and after 10 hours of playing (according to SteamVR) I had already managed to break the mechanism that holds the strap (one side is more useful than the other, nothing serious but annoying) without doing anything special.
