Bought for Time Machine on Mac, this external hard disk requires the installation of a dedicated software complicated to implement and badly explained; the backups are not done correctly and to crown it all, the technical assistance contacted by telephone is unable to help me because I am on Mac... 187 euros well wasted + my time! Great ....
I do NOT recommend at all !!!
The HDD works very well and is quite fast (107MB/s writing and 113MB/s reading). For the moment, i is reliable and stable. On the other hand, i is power hungry and vibrates a lot (inaudible but the vibrations are very noticeable when you lean on the same surface)
I bought this hard drive to save my video projects in addition to an SSD on which I do my video editing. Received it very quickly despite the confinement! The drive is a bit thick compared to my other 3 Toshiba HDDs but the WD is 5TB compared to 1TB for the others. I'm on Mac OS, so I use the USB-C cable to transfer my data with the Mac OS extended drive to improve the transfer speed. To transfer 63GB, it takes me 20min.
