HAMR Surround Technology
The HAMR (High Amplitude Multi-Roll) environment allows for maximum linear cone excursion for high SPL, while maintaining full control over the diaphragm at every stage of the excursion for optimal sonic clarity.
Redesigned for maximum performance
More power: The 2nd generation R Series drivers include many improvements over the 1st generation, such as an increase in voice coil diameter from 30 to 35mm, while the diameter of the neodymium magnet has also been enlarged. The result is a stronger driver structure with a more powerful bass output.CFRP cone
CFRP (carbon fibre reinforced polymer) is a very light but rigid material. On a standard loudspeaker cone, the edges are naturally weaker than the centre due to the elongated shape. Because the CFRP material is directional, it can be manipulated during the moulding process to strengthen the normally weak areas of the cone. The result is a stiffness throughout the cone that offers precise and efficient performance.
Tweeters with Hi-Res technology
The R Series 2 tweeters feature high-resolution audio capabilities with a frequency response in excess of 40 kHz. The tweeter cones are constructed by CFRP, allowing them to reproduce very high frequencies above 40kHz, while maintaining the smooth tonal balance of a soft dome tweeter.
Exceptional Clarity
The new voice coil is made of aluminium, compared to ordinary copper wire coils. We have increased the voice coil diameter from 30 to 35 mm in the 2nd generation R-series: the benefit is increased clarity, especially in the high frequency range and more powerful bass reproduction.
Steerable tweeter
Both component and coaxial models feature a swivel ring tweeter to improve off-axis response in non-ideal locations. It can be manually aimed to achieve the best imaging and staging at your listening position.easy-to-install network
The external array is very compact and easy to install. Simply slide the cover to access the tweeter level adjustment (+3dB / 0dB / -3dB). This ensures a perfect balance between the woofer and tweeter levels in your car.
Wave guide focuses the sound
Alpine has developed a wave guide for the cone to further improve sound quality. Moulded into the speaker cone, it prevents phase distortion of sound waves coming from the diaphragm and focuses the sound for optimum clarity.
Finishing grids included
Includes metal grilles to protect the speakers in an open installation.
