ICY DOCK 'sEZConvert MB705M2P-B is a complete solution for converting any M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD to a standard 2.5" NVMe U.2 SSD (SFF-8639) (with exact dimensions and port locations). Designed for compatibility, it accepts all M.2 sizes from 30mm to 80mm (2230 / 2242 / 2260 / 2280) in length. Installation is screwless and tool-free, allowing these drives to be installed anywhere a bare 2.5" NVMe drive is supported, such as a U.2 backplane, hot-swap rack, 2.5" mounting bracket, or in ICY DOCK's removable U.2 NVMe rack enclosures/racks. The rugged aluminum enclosure protects delicate M.2 circuit boards from bumps and drops, and the integrated heat sink with included heat sink pads keeps your hard drive cool, even under heavy loads.
Hot-Swap Design
Because M.2 SSDs are not designed to be hot-swapped, their connectors are very delicate and are typically only designed for 250 insertion/removal cycles. When used with theEZConvert MB705M2P-B, PCIe NVMe M.2 SSDs can be hot-swapped without wear and tear on the internal connector, using instead the powerful hot-swap ICY DOCK connector, which is designed for 10,000 insertion/extraction cycles. Hot swapping makes it easy to add, remove and replace drives without the need to reboot the system.
Perfect compatibility and easy installation
TheEZConvert MB705M2P-B accepts all 30mm-80mm PCIe NVMe M.2 SSDs (2230 / 2242 / 2260 / 2280) and gives it the exact same dimensions, port locations and screw hole locations as a standard 9.5mm U.2 NVMe SSD.
The one-piece heatsink cover snaps on and off without screws or tools, revealing the drive bay for easy installation, removal and replacement in seconds.
The adjustable M.2 sliding enclosure fits all standard M.2 PCie NVMe SSD lengths, including 2230 (30mm), 2242 (42mm), 2260 (60mm), and 2280 (80mm). The enclosure fits into the screw hole of the SSD to secure the drive without screws, saving you the hassle of dealing with tiny, easily lost screws while protecting your drive from vibration and motion damage.
