The CRX-N470D features its own digital amplifier technology to deliver lossless, high-fidelity audio from any source - network, USB or CD. This little all-in-one is quite correct for an acceptable price: respectable power, interesting features, sufficient connectivity. It's a pity that it doesn't have more FM presets and an IPad dock like the previous model I owned.
This small amplifier surprises by the sound quality, connected to klipsch R15M, it has under the foot in spite of its 20W, and without too much distortion at high volume...
Perfect connectivity, only downside for me, the yamaha musiccast controller app which only communicates in wifi with the amp... Problem circumvented by installing the "Stream What You Ear" app on the PC to stream to the amp via the ethernet network of the house (deezer, youtube, etc...). For the audio files on the PC, once shared, you can send them to the amp (recognized by the internet box in DHCP), with the windows player or even better with foobar2000 and a streaming extension, in 24 bits.
In short, it's still in the process of being broken in, but this amp already fulfils all expectations...
Let's hope that Yamaha will provide a firmware update and a PC application in the near future...
