Very nice screen

I was replacing an Asus ROG PG279Q which was just fine for me but had been damaged. I hesitated for a long time to switch to OLED because of what I read about the risk of burn-in and above all what it would mean in terms of maintenance. First of all, the screen is beautiful. There's no Whgaou effect when you first switch it on, but gradually you realise how deep the colours are. That's really the big plus, with a particular emphasis on the deep blacks. This detail alone really changes the overall effect. And then there's also the uniformity of the colours, with no over- or under-lit areas. After that, there are quite a few downsides: the edges aren't as sharp as they should be. The image displayed is fine, but nothing more. The maintenance menu is a bit complex and, above all, there's no timer to tell you when a pixel refresh needs to be done. So I do it regularly but I wonder if it works properly. The operation takes less than 6 minutes and during that time the screen is completely black. I was afraid it would be annoying but in fact it's quite manageable. It's also changed the way I use the screen a bit: as soon as I'm not in front of it, I remember to turn it off so that the image doesn't freeze! It's all to the good for the planet! Another drawback is that the Asus logo under the screen is always lit up. Impossible to switch off! Finally, I'd heard about the cleaning of the panel and I actually have a different opinion. I'm a maniac, but it's easy to clean the panel and it's actually perfect, much better than my IPS screen which I had to wipe every day! In short, I'd recommend this screen and keep my fingers crossed that it will last.

Already...

As you can see from the photos above, horizontal lines appeared after just one month. I don't know if it was the quality of the transport that did this as the cardboard is not damaged. Or if it's simply a defect, but one that would have appeared after a month, I don't think so. Be careful, it's a lot of money and I don't think the OLED is ready yet.

        A little marvel

This screen is simply sublime, the image is beautiful and the quality is amazing!
The only downside I'd say is the price, unfortunately Oled is still expensive but little by little it's going to become worthwhile...
As for me, I also have a pixel that's stuck in green, I've tried a few things to try and unblock it but nothing works :/. It's not really a problem though, you have to be 5cm away from the screen to see it.
So before you buy, take into account the risk of pixels "dying", but apart from that it's clear!

        Outstanding quality

After watching numerous videos on this monitor, I finally decided to buy it, and I wasn't disappointed. The responsiveness of this monitor is exceptional. I played a number of games and the fluidity of the movements and the quality of the HDR image are spectacular. It's one of the best monitors available, and I don't think I'll need to buy another one in the future, as it's hard to beat it in terms of responsiveness and gameplay.

It's a visual slap in the face

I went from a 144Hz IPS screen of the same size to this incredible 240Hz OLED screen.
The difference is enormous: the image is incredibly fluid and the colours have a depth worthy of a Sony 4K TV, for example (since I have one).
The software is pretty rich too, with the possibility of controlling part of the screen directly on the PC if you install the drivers correctly, it's not incredible but it's a little extra.
For gaming, as I've already said, it's very responsive for fps.

L'Ecran is a jewel, delivery and LDLC service are always top notch.

I had an old 24" TN screen and switched to 27" OLED, Wow! What a slap in the face! The screen is just incredible, with HDR working pretty well and no need to worry about the settings. If this screen catches your eye, go for it with your eyes closed!

Excellent screen for games and video, average for text

        Plus points:
        - 240Hz OLED screen: if you've got what it takes to push 240fps in 1440p gaming (4070 equivalent or higher recommended), this screen packs a punch. The image is fluid and remains relatively sharp during fast movements.

        - Maximum brightness is very satisfactory in SDR. HDR not yet tested as not functional on HellDivers II.
Very pleasing to the eye with the pure blacks of OLED.

        Minuses:
        - A W-OLED panel instead of QD-OLED, which means that there are 4 sub-pixels (white + RGB) instead of the usual 3 (RGB). In practice, this means that the smoothing of text (ClearType) that is usually effective on LCD screens does not work. Text becomes less smooth, less pleasant to read, with purple / cyan coloured fringes on the right and left edges of certain pixels. Not at all disturbing for games and films, but not at all appropriate for intensive word processing. You get used to it for web pages, but I won't spend all day on Word with this screen, for which I have a classic IPS next to it.

        - The USB hub built into the screen is unable to power the charging of my phone, a Google Pixel 7. The charge starts, stops and starts again in a loop.

        - the back panel light with the ROG logo doesn't switch off at the same time as the screen. You have to disable it in the menus, even after updating to the latest firmware.

        - The price! But that's the price of technology...

In short, a very good gaming panel, but expensive and a package not free from design flaws.

        I recommend

I've had it for over 3 months now, and it's just perfect! the only downside is that some games get harder (HUNT SHOWDOWN) because when it gets dark it's really pitch black, and thank you I love that, it puts me back in the mood for the game and for me that's really something I was looking for.
        -
To give you an idea, these are two screens, the PG27AQDM (on the left) and an IPS (on the right), with the same image and the same settings on both screens (both Asus).

        Opinion after 2 months.

After 2 months of daily use (mainly gaming, and office work (excel, code)), it's a GREAT screen, BUT :

        - There's a "sharp" aspect to office work, at first I thought I'd lost 5 in each eye but... that's the screen (phew?), it can sting the eyes at first, but you get used to it (I've got a second IPS screen for that, by the way).
        - I've already got a dead pixel, even if I take care to clean the screen every 6/7 hours, which I've never had on any of my screens (due to bad luck), and it's impossible to send it back because it's not covered by the warranty.
        - (quibble) this screen cleans very badly, I'm used to working on my screens in "out of the factory" mode (no fingerprints, cloths, dust, etc...) and with this one, it's a horror to clean it, it's a nest of dust, traces of long-lasting cloth (micro-fibre cloth, demineralised water and so on... for cleaning), in short, quibble, but it's also the first time that a screen has bothered me so much.
        - Not much to do with the screen itself, but I ordered my screen by EXPRESS (to be delivered the next day), I'm not telling you all the adventures with Chronopost, but I received my screen more than a week later, which I had to pick up 40 minutes from my home, and to top it all off, the box was in a terrible state, it's a terrible service.

Despite these points, it's a great screen, I'm switching from a 240Hz TN panel to this, it's going from one extreme to another, I'm rediscovering games, series, films, and the pleasure of simply looking at my screen and saying to myself "wow, this is bo". :D

It's a great screen, but for £800 (bought during black Friday), it's really hurting my wallet.

A must read if you're still hesitating!

I've had this screen for almost 1 month now and I have to say that I have absolutely no regrets about the blow to my bank card when I bought it.

I read a lot of things on the internet before making this purchase that made me hesitate for a long time, such as the colour fringing, the burning, or the connectors. I wanted to share my experience with other people who might be hesitating as I was.

Firstly, I didn't see any difference with my other Samsung 1440 VA 240hz screen. However, I used both monitors at the same time when teleworking (and my job consists of working on Excel all day: sharp black figures on white).
In my opinion, this is simply a marketing turf war over the different 'Pixel Layout' between Samsung and LG.

As for the risk of burning, given the quality of the product and the experience of the manufacturers, I have no concerns. Especially as there are various pixel cleaning or prevention modes available. The procedure takes 3-4 min every 6h-8h in a row (the time it takes to load a game and it's ready to go again).

The other point often raised is that there's no HMDI 2.1: but frankly, if someone wants to play on next gen then why take this 2K screen instead of a 4K one straight away? I don't understand this type of comment on the internet either....

It's true that you can always find similar screens for less, and this is the first time I've bought a screen at this price, but I'm extremely pleased with my experience. The whole product, the packaging, the OSD, the set-up, and above all the quality of the screen ooze premium. It's also an investment, which will sell more easily and at a lower price than a more 'generic' product in 2-3 years' time if you get the urge.

        I'd definitely recommend it.

Not convinced of OLED yet ...

The screen itself is stylish and imposing, with very dark blacks, and even the visual quality in general has nothing to say!
BUT for me there are 2 problems ...
the 1st is that I don't know why but I don't have any LEDs lighting up on my screen or even the logo projection + certain tabs in the OSD that are blocked ...
The 2nd BIG problem is that I have this "mura" effect ... like I had on the LG 27GR95QE-B too! these are vertical lines that are constantly present, I can see them in dark images and this can be disturbing for gaming or even just for office work. In view of the previous comments, I have the impression that I'm the only one who has this effect ...
900 et quelques euros partit en l'air ..

Nice screen but not extra thin

Fast, smooth delivery in its original packaging. So there's no over-packaging.
As far as the screen is concerned, after 3 days of use, no dead pixels were detected. It's worth noting that as soon as I switched it on and connected it via displayport, the display frequency was 240hz.
I haven't noticed any specific problems with font clarity, as indicated in other reviews on the internet.
Finally, I agree with the reviews that the "borderless, ultra-thin profile" motion shown on the product's official website is very exaggerated. Instead of mm, you'd almost have to count in cm.

        Best Upgrade !!!

It's quite simply the best upgrade you can make when you're a demanding gamer !!! It doesn't matter if you have the best processor or GPU you haven't tried, you can't miss out on what you're missing, going back to LCD is impossible, and then you get such clarity of movement that it's inexplicable, even in ULMB it's not as good !!!! I've just got an Asus pg279qm so it's already a good 144hz/165hz monitor with a good response time!!!! But this is night and day !!!! Combined with HDR it's quite simply the best upgrade I've seen in computer/gaming gear. Worth every penny.
(You'll need a decent gpu to keep up with the 240fps to get the most out of this jewel).
Thank you Asus and Lg for this super monitor and to ldlc for their delivery and telephone reception always at the top).

        super screen

        Hello everyone

Screen bought at the LDLC Paris shop (thanks again to the salesman who gave me a little demo on the screen that was on display just before the purchase! ).
This screen is a little jewel, I've been using it for 15 days now for gaming of course but also for work (office, web etc..) and I have nothing to reproach it with.
The screen display is really superb and I'm not at all disappointed.
I won't come back to the responsiveness of the display, which is perfect.
As far as text is concerned, I'm really surprised by the various comments on this subject because I'm not bothered, I'm probably not sensitive to this problem but I admit that I can't see any difference in the way text is displayed compared to my old IPS and yet I do a lot of office/web work.
In short, I would recommend this screen for its quality, thanks again to LDLC.

Good BUT not for all uses

I bought this screen because I'm a content creator and I was looking for a good panel in addition to my requirements as a gamer (competitive on Apex Legends). The screen is used in DisplayPort on my PC and in HDMI on my Mac, and if I can sum up these 7 months with the screen :

It's the best on the market for anyone who likes an extremely high-performance screen for competitive FPS (Valorant, Overwatch, Apex, Counter Strike...). ON THE GO! If you use it for anything other than gaming (work, graphics, video or photo editing) or if you spend a lot of time browsing the web, this is not the screen for you.

OLED/QD-OLED panels are already less accurate at displaying text than LCD models (such as IPS or VA), but the nano textured coating on this screen, while very effective at combating reflections, adds a blurred effect to the overall image. On very fine elements (such as a font) this creates an annoyance that I find far too present.

On 21:9 QD-OLEDs it's easier to set Windows text to 125% to compensate for this, but on a 2560x1440 screen like this you'll have the impression of having a 1080p screen and the rendering won't be great.

Finally, I'm sorry (but I knew that before I bought it) that the HDMI is only 2.0. For a 2023 screen, that's a shame, especially as other OLED screens with the same panel have DisplayPort 1.4 and HDMI 2.1. As a result, when I use it on my Mac in HDMI mode, I don't get the same quality as on my PC (even though my Mac is in 2.1 mode, which is all the more annoying) and I have to make concessions on frequency or colourimetry.

In short, if it's ONLY for gaming on a PC (not optimised for next-gen consoles) and watching films, it's the best possible screen in 16:9. If it's for gaming AND other purposes as detailed above, you're better off with a Nano IPS panel.

An exceptional visual experience with the Asus ROG Swift OLED PG27AQDM

I am absolutely delighted with my purchase of the Asus ROG Swift OLED PG27AQDM. This screen offers an unrivalled viewing experience thanks to its OLED technology, and I haven't had any problems since I bought it.

        Highlights:

Outstanding Picture Quality: The OLED display delivers deep blacks and vibrant colours, creating an immersive visual experience for gaming, video, and even simple browsing.

Stunning contrast: OLED technology enables high dynamic contrast, bringing out every detail in games and movies.

Responsive and fluid: With a high refresh rate and low latency, this screen is perfect for fast-paced gaming and online competitions.

Elegant, ergonomic design: The futuristic aesthetics of the ROG design, combined with the flexibility of ergonomic settings, make this screen as visually appealing as it is functional.

Comprehensive connectivity: The variety of ports available meets all my needs, whether I'm connecting a games console, laptop or other peripherals.

        Points to note:

While my experience so far has been exceptional, it's important to note that OLED can be susceptible to screen burn if a static image is displayed for long periods of time. However, with normal use and taking a few precautions, this problem can be easily avoided.

In summary, the Asus ROG Swift OLED PG27AQDM is an investment worth every penny for visual quality enthusiasts. I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for an immersive, uncompromising visual experience.

        A nugget!

From a 35" curved screen to a 200Hz IPS panel, it's a real knockout! The picture quality is just perfect, and the contrasts are breathtaking! Coupled with an RTX 4080, I'm rediscovering all the games I play!

Good to know: Text rendering isn't as bad as people say on the forums, believe me that's just quibbling.

In short, go for it without any hesitation, it's the best OLED screen on the market by far!

        Just perfect!

Being a multipurpose user (video + games + graphics), here is finally a screen that combines all the essential features I have been looking for for a long time! At last, consumer OLED is here in the PC world!
        - Top response time and refresh rate for competitive FPS...
        - Incredible colorimetry
        - Finally super deep blacks in movies with dark scenes!
And all in WQHD resolution! Supports very well 2560x1440 @ 240Hz @ 10bits in Displayport.
It's a change from the 24" Full HD IPS, you can really feel the gap.
The screen is well equipped, full menu with several modes and integrated crosshair. It's a nice touch.
The HDR on the whole is good. In video games, no worries, for movies, it's fine too, but it's better to be in a low light environment.
The edges of the screen are about 9mm.

        Negative point:
        - I regret that there is no PIP mode
        - The Vesa mount adapter adds unnecessary thickness to the screen.
        - I'm not a fan of the button placement, it can be annoying if you want to stick 2 screens together in portrait mode.

Conclusion: After a few weeks of use, I really don't regret my purchase. I am fully satisfied, I even plan to buy a second one. I hope that in the long term, I will not have any problem of image burn, I take the necessary precautions (screen saver software & hardware)
