The first few weeks of using an ultrawide QHD+ are magical, after that you get used to it but it's still great. Gaming is immersive, and multi-tasking is really cool (Microsoft PowerToys really help with this type of screen). However, because it's an IPS, the backlight does leak (which is only annoying when the screen is completely black).
No worries, the screen works very well, and contrary to other comments, I was able to take the 0 dead pixel guarantee (so far I haven't had to use it!)
New companion to my brand new I9 and RTX3080 based setup, this monitor is perfect. I watched dozens of videos and comparisons before deciding to buy it and I'm not disappointed.
It's the lack of a 0 dead pixel guarantee on screens costing more than a thousand euros that almost dissuaded me. I would have used the withdrawal period if there had been a problem, but still, it dampens enthusiasm. Fortunately, the monitor arrived faultless and is still going strong to this day!
The colours are brilliant and you don't need another monitor next to it to see that. The refresh rate ensures a nice fluidity and the different profiles will allow everyone to easily find the right picture for the right use.
I wasn't particularly convinced by the HDR, the backlighting areas are coarse and very visible in dark games. However, the SDR colours are splendid and the rendering is, I find, better without the hdr.
I was also a bit afraid of the size of the device despite the handheld simulation. Once switched on, 15 seconds were enough to convince me. The curvature is so smooth that you don't even notice it and it's surprisingly comfortable to look at for such a width.
So yes, a month's salary in a monitor may seem crazy, I agree. But what a great deal!
I'm very pleased with the quality of the product and the price.
The screen is really great, the image is super clean, very responsive.
But after 10 days, here are three dead pixels that are permanently lit in green.
On a 1500€ screen it's still very very abused.
This screen is really excellent! Not much to reproach it. The size, the colours, the ration, the Hz...
I just take points for some small details that would have been nice to announce more clearly from LG!
1) 10bits colours are limited to 120Hz Max
2) Overclocking to 160Hz automatically blocks HDR600
(So limited to 144Hz Max)
3) impossible to display FPS directly on the screen (possible via GeForce Experience but it still has some bugs) which allows to check (for example) if G-Sync is activated.
Some details that are a bit hidden in the marketing info!
However, depending on the use (Gaming, video editing, photo editing,...) the frequency will have to be adapted.
Concerning the G-Sync compatible, it works wonders.
I used to have the PG348Q, an official G-Sync screen (so not "just" compatible) and it's even better managed! The extra Hz certainly helps!
But really not disappointed with this product which exceeds all the features I liked on the PG348Q
When LDLC informed me of its availability, I ordered it and I don't regret it. The rendering in writing and images is simply fascinating. At 144 Hz, the screen does not tire the eyes. Having six pages of Word or Excel displayed adds to the ease of writing. 4K movies or blu-ray or 4K YouTubes are beautiful to watch.
The light behind the screen is a plus. Configuration is easy.
For games, the width of the screen makes it difficult to see everything at the same time. It is better in this case to take the less wide and less expensive version.
In any case, LG signs here a beautiful success.
I was worried that this monster, with its impressive packaging, would be too big for less than full use than my previous 32" 4K 16:9. Well, no.
Sure, the relative "low" height of a 21:9 is initially shocking, but the wide width, thanks to its slight curvature and the angled layout of my desk, fits much better than I feared.
In office use, the screen is magnificent. By scaling down the Windows display from 125% to 100%, I can display 5 full size Word pages side by side, all readable! In genealogy, I had never seen such a large and well-filled tree. Above all, I can open three contiguous windows simultaneously, which is very practical.
In games, the scale of the scenery is very beautiful and immersion is reinforced.
Two small drawbacks however: 1) the HDR setting to obtain a picture that is neither too dark nor too vivid is not obvious and the guidance can be improved 2) even if it is equivalent to two screens on a single stand, this superb monitor is very expensive.
All in all, I have no regrets and recommend it to all those who work and also like to play.
Very high quality, I am very surprised that the games are so beautiful, coming from a 27" 4k 144hz gsync, I had some fears, being very demanding, I am really satisfied, this screen brings me what I was looking for, even more, for high quality gaming.
