It's a very good product. You can add an external power supply, which is great if you need to put in several hard drives or charge your controllers. The downside is that it doesn't come with one.

My old 22" iMac from 2011 was sorely lacking in USB sockets. The product is really plug & play (no manipulation to do), I connected my numeric keyboard and my printer / scanner CANON.
I didn't use an external power supply as indicated on the manual, but I think it's not an obligation; the box lights up anyway (little blue LED that stays on, so it proves that everything is fine) :)
The case is well made (metal shell) and well finished. The price is correct, I had tried to buy a USB box much cheaper in supermarkets, only problem, it is not reliable, and it creates bugs and slowdown!
So, the price is there, but the quality remains....
I strongly recommend this USB box, it seems to me to be a wise choice for those who lack USB plugs on their computer; and ICY BOX always makes quality products, which is becoming rare nowadays.

This product "ICY BOX 4 Port USB 3.0 Hub" is good quality but it lacks a power cable. I am naive. That's a shame !!!! I am trying to ask LDLC.com for a return. I give the rating 3 out of 5.

I use it with a macbook pro with 2 usb. I connect a usb sound card, a midi interface, a hard drive. No problem with this configuration. The look of it is also very good with the mac!

I'm using it with my tower, which is a large tower, and the cable connecting the hub is short, so I can't place it where I want on the desk. So it stays on the tower. It's a shame!

We multiply the equipment in USB and our towers, even with 8 plugs, are sometimes too little, except to play the connectors/disconnectors as soon as we want to connect a new device.
