The update I requested when I placed my order was carried out very quickly, and I even received it at the same time as the box I ordered on the same date.
BIOS update done in the shop, no problems to report. However, this does not mean that you don't need to adjust the RAM profile and fans in the BIOS once the PC is up and running.
Not knowing anything about it, I took advantage of the installation of my GPU to have the workshop update the BIOS. Trusting them, I didn't check. Finding the PC sometimes slow, I realised that the RAM of 3600 was actually running at 2133. I went into the BIOS to change it. There's no point in paying a so-called PRO to do an incomplete job.
I put my PC together and it doesn't start... dram problem (CM light), I call the after-sales service, it's fine, in 30 seconds they confirm that I need to upgrade the bios for my CPU, which is too new, and tell me to go to the shop.
I call to find out if they have a CPU to do it, I ask for it to be done directly (1h drive there and back, I wasn't going to leave the PC for 2 days), we're good, they can do it for me.
I dismantle the ventirad and the CPU (they've got thermal paste, I don't want it everywhere).
On the spot, on opening, I ask them NOT to reassemble my CPU, I'll do it myself because of the thermal paste and we'll test everything afterwards.
I wait for 1 hour (bios update, 5min max. OK, you have to plug in a screen and keyboard and look up the bios on the web) and they come and tell me that the person who looks after my PC is leaving for a meeting, so I'll have to come back at the end of the day! I grumble a bit and oh miracle my PC is ready 5 seconds later.
I get my PC back and to my great surprise, my CPU has gone up to wipe: "Oh yes, we had to test it with your CPU....". You can imagine how annoyed I was!
I get home, and before I put the thermal paste back on, I see that they've put it in places where they're lucky not to have burnt something.
A little joke at the end... they didn't even have the latest version of the bios, so I had to update it before starting...
Anyway, the second nearest shop is 10 minutes away. Given the journey time, I'd change shops, but this one, never again!
In view of the LDLC warning about z790 motherboards and 14th generation processors (potentially requiring a BIOS update before installing the 14th generation processor), I preferred to take this option (which was offered to me by the shop, at my request) to avoid any problems from the outset.
The job was done, and I had no problems with it during installation and start-up.
One star less for the fact that in this particular case (purchase of motherboard and processor together for PC installation), the update should be systematically offered.

I've been stuck with this update for 4 months, I tried to get the nearest technician to work on it, which is normal, but nothing could be done, in 1 day and 200km there and back the problem was solved, thank you.
Everything is excellent. BIOS update done, everything was put away in the box (so well put away that I had a doubt if the update was done or forgotten). I installed the Intel 14th on my CM Z790 and everything works perfectly.

Second time I've bought a motherboard with the update request and every time it's great! They add a small sheet noting the current update that they have put on the card which allows you to check if it's really the latest or if the maj is compatible with your processor! Big gg for that LDLC!
Nothing to complain about - there's barely a mark on the packaging tape to indicate that the card has been unwrapped for the upgrade. No problem getting the processor to run afterwards.
Bios update requested because the first bios were not Linux compatible on my CM, and I didn't want to play.

Following a contact on the LDLC central platform (Jérémy) to upgrade my configuration based on a Gigabyte AB350 Gaming CM on Window 11, the technician wrote to me that it was possible with a BIOS upgrade and a new processor. So I ordered a CG RX 6600 as well.
But on the day I was due to collect my Window 11-compliant PC, I was told that the platform had made a mistake and that it wasn't possible with a motherboard upgrade or some other not-so-clean trick.
In short, beware of advice because it's costing me a CM.
The service was carried out correctly, and my CPU 5600G was recognised directly. The motherboard is repackaged in its box, so it's impeccable.
I had it done for a Gigabyte A520M DS3H CM on the advice of the sales department to install (later) a dual QHD which would not have been supported with the bios without an update. The update was (well) done by LDLC but :
- it delayed the delivery of the CM by a day compared to the CPU I ordered at the same time;
- it's very easy to do (there are software tools in Windows to do it on the fly, with a level of computer ignorance...)
- I installed the PC with an HD screen, so I could have updated it myself before upgrading to a dual QHD.
In short, it's not really worth it...
With the order of an ASUS ROG STRIX B760-F GAMING WIFI, I took this option to have one less problem at the 1st boot of the new PC.
LDLC did the job, latest BIOS version installed.
For those who have failed to flash their motherboard...for a few euros here's an essential service! (I cracked a motherboard trying to flash it, so...)
I asked for this service without being sure there was any need for it, but in the end, there's almost no trace of the intervention, it's almost as if it hadn't been unpacked (but the state of the tape around the packaging bag proves that it's been opened at least once). And there have been no problems with the motherboard since installation.
The service was done on my Prime Z690-P, with a sheet indicating the version that was installed (it could also have indicated what the previous version was).
Handy when you don't have the previous generation CPU and you're not sure if the motherboard you're going to buy has the updated bios compatible with the new CPU you want.
I think there is a legitimate reason behind the time it adds to the order preparation but as I can't figure out what it is, it's the 5th star that suffers!
It was the only part I was missing to assemble my pc, if I had known I would have ordered it before.
Bad surprise when I unpacked it, for me the socket has BENT pins!
I took the risk to assemble my pc anyway, no problem and HAPPY.
I've been using it for a while now and I'm not sure if it's a good idea to use it.
The service was done but I can't tell if the problem I mentioned above is original or if it was done by the person who prepared my order.
I've been used to better things from LDLC, but I've ordered several times recently and haven't received the product in time.

This update was required for an MSI B450M PRO-M2 MAX motherboard with an AMD RYZEN 3 4300GE processor.
Has been done correctly as the processor works fine.
Always a shame to have to pay such an extra fee when there are only AMD Ryzen's left!
When buying a motherboard with a processor, sometimes it is not certain whether the BIOS or UEFI version supports it. And when you are not sure it is always better to have an expert hand to make sure and this service is the little extra that ensures the right functionality

I needed the bios update for my Ryzen 5900X, and it worked as expected.
For a Gigabyte X570 AORUS MASTER motherboard.
Honestly, I was thinking at first 3 things:
1- I can do this upgrade myself (damn, I don't have a USB key anymore)
2- I'm not too comfortable with them opening MY box and taking out MY motherboard !....
3- what if they lose something while packing it up? a cable, a manual, something!
And as a result :
1- If the update had not been done via usb before, my Ryzen 9 5950XT would not have been recognized. And I don't want to mess up the BIOS at the beginning, especially since it's on an extreme configuration!
2- In fact, they will see right away if this motherboard works or is a dead item from the factory! In a way an insurance/test of functioning before shipping (and mount everything and press the ON button with fear...)
3- No. Everything arrived as if the box had never been opened! I even wondered if they had worked on it so much it looked like it came out of the factory (not even a fingerprint on the card once it was unpacked, and yet I looked for it in purple light! ... :) ). And a little note attached inside told me that LDLc put the f33j BIOS (or something like that...). Phew! Which was verified once the PC was mounted and launched.
So 10/10, and really, for 23e, you don't want to be bored! ...
Updating a bios is not very complicated, but I think that this service is done with a correct quality-price ratio: the bios of my motherboard was well updated to its last version at the time of my order, with indication of this version on a paper added in the box. My Ryzen 5600X was recognized without any problem. And the card box was well stored, with no missing accessories.

I ordered an ASRock B450- Pro 4 CM to pair with a Ryzen 5 3600, my CM arrived correctly upgraded.
I had no problems with it, the CM was not damaged, neither was the packaging.
I only put 8/10 for the price ... I'm not sure how much it costs to flash a BIOS, but I'm not sure how much it costs to flash a BIOS...
I ordered an Asus Prime X299 Deluxe card and an Intel Core I9 7920X. I asked the LDLC technicians for advice, and they were right, because a bios update was imperative for the Core to work. I have no problem updating the bios on an installed card, but when it's still in its packaging I have to admit that I don't know how to do it. The visit to the Asus website confirmed that this update was imperative. I'm not sure what to do, but I'm sure that I'll be able to get the card and the rest of the hardware in one package. I had not asked for such a delivery (classic colissimo) the delivery time despite the update was 6 days, nothing to say, if not thank you to all employees of LDLC.
When I bought a GA-990XA-UD3 R5 motherboard in February 2016, I subscribed to this service which is not cheap (20-25% of the price of the motherboard).
At the time of purchase, a version 2 of the bios had already been produced by Gigabyte (dated April 2, 2015).
What a surprise to discover today that my motherboard is on a version 1!

After checking on the manufacturer's website of the motherboard (ASRock FM2A68M-DG3+), the CPU I wanted was not compatible with the original bios, except for having a compatible CPU in advance to do so, the cost proposed by LDLC is more interesting

LDLC is the only site that offers this tricky manoeuvre for the most amateur of us. I bought an ASUS motherboard and needed this upgrade to work with my Ryzen 5. Unfortunately this motherboard was 40€ cheaper on other sites but they didn't offer this upgrade, so I opted for LDLC even if it was more expensive.
No surprise, my Gigabyte motherboard bios was at the latest version when I received it.

Updating Bios on motherboards without a facilitated graphics update system is a risky business. I prefer to leave this step to experienced professionals. I had to request an update after consulting the official Gygabite website where you can see the list of processors compatible with your motherboard and the version of Bios needed. The motherboard was received with an upgrade certificate, which is great for ISO 9001 compliant companies.
I have been using this product for some time now and I am very pleased with the results, but I have to say that it is a very good product.
