- POWER ADAPTERS – Please note that the MacBook Pro (16-inch) with M5 Pro or M5 Max comes with a USB C to MagSafe 3 charging cable, but no power adapter. A USB C power adapter or another USB PD power source capable of delivering 94 W (or more) is required to charge this device. For optimal charging, Apple recommends pairing this Mac with the Apple 96 W USB C Power Adapter or the 140 W USB C Power Adapter for demanding workflows and to take advantage of fast charge (up to 50 % charge in just 30 minutes)8.

1 Testing conducted by Apple in January and February 2026 using preproduction 16-inch MacBook Pro systems with Apple M5 Max chip, 18-core CPU, 32-core GPU, 36GB of unified memory and 2TB SSD, and Apple M5 Pro chip with 18-core CPU, 20-core GPU, 48GB of unified memory and 1TB SSD. Battery life for wireless web browsing measured by browsing 25 popular websites over a Wi Fi connection. Battery life for video streaming measured by streaming 1080p content in Safari over a Wi Fi connection. Display brightness was set to 8 clicks from the lowest setting and keyboard backlight was off. 2 Testing conducted by Apple in January and February 2026 using preproduction 16-inch MacBook Pro systems with Apple M5 Max chip with 18-core CPU, 40-core GPU and 128GB of unified memory, and shipping 16-inch MacBook Pro systems with Apple M4 Max chip with 16-core CPU, 40-core GPU and 128GB of unified memory, all configured with an 8TB SSD. Testing conducted using FIO 3.41, a 1,024 KB request size, a 10GB test file and queue depth of 8. Performance tests are conducted using specific computer systems and reflect only approximate performance of MacBook Pro.
