For sound that's lively, smooth and enjoyable
Thanks to patented DIDR C (Dynamic Intermodulation Distortion Reduction Circuitry) technology , the Onkyo P-80 preamplifier delivers sound that's lively, smooth and enjoyable, whatever the music source. This DIDRC technology takes the form of a discrete signal control circuit, developed to make digital sources such as CDs and music streaming services sound as natural as vinyl records. This technology has now been perfected even further. It is integrated into the DAC's analogue filter and the P-80's phono amplifier circuits.
By combining a fanless design (which eliminates noise), a high-end stereo DAC (32-bit / 768 kHz) that reduces distortion and an extruded aluminium heatsink to suppress vibration, this preamplifier lays a solid foundation for superior sound reproduction.
Powerful, controlled bass
The P-80 's enclosure consists of two aluminium side panels and asteel top panel. This three-piece structure increases rigidity and improves resistance to shocks. The 'oval chassis' with oval pressing lines reinforces the bottom surface and disperses vibrations, improving sound quality.
Hi-fi quality terminal blocks, high-end capacitors and rigid front panels further reduce vibration and signal degradation. The P-80 features a phono circuit independent of other circuits. It is compatible with MM and MC cells. The discretely designed MC circuit accurately reproduces the output signal of even the tiniest MC cartridge without distortion.
The Onkyo P-80 preamplifier is equipped with two independent subwoofer outputs, providing all the power you need to reveal the depth and intensity of the bass sounds in your favourite tracks.
