The 12VHPWR cable supplied with the card has started to melt at the GPU connector, causing sudden reboots. Serious reliability issue.
And avoid the appalling customer service...
The RTX 5090 Vanguard SOC is an excellent model. Performance is impressive in gaming and deep learning, and MSI's cooling system efficiently dissipates the 575W of this monster. It's quiet even with vBIOS Gaming and never exceeds 65-70 degrees under load. Apart from the price, the disadvantages include the very gimmicky look (which looks better in real life than on the photos) and its huge size (be careful if you're using an SFF case). However, given the efficiency of the cooling system, it remains a very good product. The reliability of the 5090 remains to be seen over time, but for the moment it's safe.
It's too expensive for what it is, but on the other hand it really does run at its best, even on a super ultra-wide screen. I recommend the 5080 if you don't have a 4k screen.
