Trackballs allow you to adjust the colours of an image using the lift, gamma and gain tonal ranges. Unlike using a mouse and keyboard, you can manipulate several trackballs simultaneously to create unique effects. The ring around the trackballs lets you adjust master levels and establish dynamic contrast. The buttons above each trackball allow you to reset the adjustment of colours, levels, or both. A set of three buttons on the top of the DaVinci Resolve Micro Panel allows you to toggle between the primary and log wheels, activate the offset, temperature and hue controls, and enable full-screen output.
Primary calibration controls
The primary calibration controls affect the luminance and chrominance of your entire image using a variety of specialised tools that target specific tonal ranges and tint ranges. These tools allow you to make the most common adjustments to produce a dynamic image, making it a popular option for photographers, graphic designers and colourists working to tight deadlines. The DaVinci Resolve Micro Panel includes 12 primary colour correction wheels that allow you to adjust contrast, saturation, hue, temperature, midtones, colour vibrancy, lowlights, highlights and more. Pressing the dials will reset the control, giving you the chance to experiment with different looks!
Navigation and transport controls
The area to the right of the control balls contains buttons that help you navigate between clips on the timeline, browse clips in a shot and move from one node to another in the node editor. These navigation keys can save you a lot of time, as they allow you to keep your hands on the panel and not use the mouse to perform simple tasks such as moving from one node to another. Thanks to the forward, rewind and stop transport keys, you can precisely control your timeline or deck.
The DaVinci Resolve Micro Panel is powered via USB. So all you need to do is plug it into a laptop to use it at home, in the studio or on set. This is very useful for colour grading with a portable system during a shoot.
