TheICY DOCK ToughArmor MB118VP-B is a rugged 6-bay rackmount designed for NVMe U.2/U.3 SSDs. It supports drives up to 9.5mm high and offers PCIe 4.0 speed, enabling extremely fast data transfer rates of up to 64Gb/s via its SlimSAS interface (SFF-8654).
Easy installation and removal
NVMe U.2/U.3 SSDs are typically installed inside the computer case, making maintenance difficult and time consuming. The ToughArmor MB118VP-B places your drives in the front 5.25" optical drive bay, using removable drive trays for worry-free maintenance. These removable drive trays are compatible with standard U.2/U.3 SSDs up to 9.5mm high, making it easy to install and remove your drives.
Superior PCIe 4.0 performance
The ToughArmor MB118VP-B offers excellent performance for data-intensive applications that demand speed and reliability. Equipped with SlimSAS 8i (SFF-8654) connectors, each drive in the rack can achieve transfer speeds of up to 64 Gb/s, twice as fast as PCIe 3.0 standards and ten times faster than SATA standards, unleashing the full potential of NVMe Gen 4.0 x4 SSDs. The blazing fast IOPS (input/output operations per second) make the MB118VP-B an ideal storage solution for autonomous driving, real-time forecasting, film editing, and military computing applications where high-speed data processing is essential.
Robust and highly practical
Each drive tray has an LED status indicator that shows when your drive is powered on and in use. When no drive is installed, the light turns off to save power. Constructed of sturdy metal materials, this rack features removable drive trays that make installing and removing drives quick and easy.
In addition, the MB118VP-B is designed with two 40 x 20 mm fans that maintain optimal temperatures for high-speed U.2/U.3 SSDs inside the rack. The rack is equipped with a rugged, heavy-duty metal cover over the entire unit and tray, making it ideal for a system that may require a flammability rating.
Grounding your drives is essential to avoid physical damage due to static shock when replacing drives. Innovative EMI grounding technology ensures that once the drive is screwed into the platter, it remains constantly grounded to the platter, rack and computer system to protect U.2/U.3 SSDs from static electrical surges when changing drives.
