Overview

An efficient and cost-effective way to upgrade to an NVMe M.2 PCIe SSD

TheEZConvert Ex Pro MB987M2P-1B offers an efficient, cost-effective and simple way to upgrade your data storage system to a high-speed NVMe M.2 PCIe SSD via a 4 x / 8 x / 16 x PCIe 3.0 expansion slot.

Space-saving design

Using the PCIe expansion slot, theEZConvert Ex Pro MB987M2P-1B allows you to install an NVMe M.2 PCIe SSD in the PCIe slot to save space. The MB987M2P-B is a perfect solution for systems that lack extra disk space, such as embedded computers, desktop PCs, rack-mounted servers, compact gaming PCs and workstation PCs.

State of the Art Tool-Free Hard Drive Installation

TheEZConvert Ex is compatible with all standard NVMe M.2 PCIe SSD lengths, including 2230 (30mm), 2242 (42mm), 2260 (60mm), 2280 (80mm) and 22110 (110mm). The unique adjustable M.2 locker clips into the M.2 SSD screw hole to secure the drive without the use of tools or screws, saving you time with tiny, easily lost screws while protecting your drive from vibration and motion damage.

True performance and efficient cooling

ThePCIe 3.0 interface provides power and data transfer simultaneously, ultimately reducing the cable clutter in the system. The 32 Gb/s transfer speed is five times faster than SATA III standards, making the MB987M2P-1B an ideal solution for data-intensive applications such as image processing, machine learning, cloud computing, data mining and gaming.

TheEZConvert EX Pro MB987M2P-1B is designed for the PCIe 3.0 x 4 slot and is also compatible with PCIe 3.0/4.0 x4, x8 and x16 slots.

The specialized aluminum cover acts as a heat sink to keep the M.2 NVMe SSD at safe temperatures, even under heavy load. The included thermal pad can be placed on the underside of the aluminum heat sink cover for better heat dissipation. The cutout under the M.2 SSD ensures maximum airflow throughout the drive and provides optimal cooling efficiency.

    Suitable to bring new life

First of all, let's put it in context!
I'm on an old (and still going strong) machine that I wanted to give a new lease of life to.
Not having an M.2 port and being with only PCIe2.0, I knew in advance that I would not be using this hardware to its full potential (hence the star minus, as I don't know if it lives up to its commercial commitments).
However, after 15 days of struggling to mod my BIOS + OS replacement to make the NVMe it receives detectable, it seems to work.
An affordable way to bring in an (extra) M.2 port without a machine.
The heatsink seems to do its job in keeping the temperature below 50°C (Samsung 980 NVMe 500GB)
