Samsung's 970 EVO Plus 500GB SSD gives your machine a performance and responsiveness makeover. The Samsung 970 EVO Plus in M.2 2280 format is based on the PCI-E 3.0 x4 interface and NVMe 1.3 technology and is equipped with TLC memory, a Samsung Phoenix controller and 512 MB of LPDDR4 cache memory.
The Samsung 970 EVO Plus M.2 PCIe 3.0 4x NVMe 1.3 in its 500 GB version takes your PC to another level of performance with speeds of up to 3.5 GB/s read and 3.2 GB/s write. The number of operations per second reaches an impressive 480,000 read IOPS and 550,000 write IOPS (4KB, QD32), enough to run your applications without latency.
With the 970 EVO Plus series you assemble a configuration for ultimate performance in an M.2 type 2280 drive. Thanks to firmware optimisations and Intelligent TurboWrite technology, it offers speeds of up to 3500MB/s read and 3300MB/s write, which is 53% faster depending on the model.
The 970 EVO Plus series features a PCIe 3.0 x4 NVMe 1.3 interface, in-house 3-bit V-NAND and an enhanced Phoenix controller. The drive can achieve speeds of up to 3,500MB/s read and up to 3,300MB/s write without fail (depending on the model) for faster boot times and faster transfers.
Samsung's 970 EVO Plus SSDs set a new standard in endurance with Samsung's 3-bit V-NAND memory chips. The 250GB version offers 150TB of writing capacity, while the 2TB version reaches 1200TB. I'm withdrawing one star because I took the old version and I didn't have the right to a ssd upgrade.

The Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus M.2 PCIe NVMe 500GB has stood the test of time and is still going strong after 4 years of use. It remains reliable for everyday use, even if its performance now lags behind that of more recent SSDs on the market.
It has still offered good durability, making it a solid long-term investment.
In short, an SSD that has aged well and still performs well, even if it has now been overtaken by new generations.
This SSD works perfectly and deserves its good reputation. It's the first time I've had an Nvme and it's very efficient.
I bought this SSD to replace the smaller one in my girlfriend's computer. I chose this particular model because Samsung makes very VERY good quality NVME SSDs.
This NVME SSD is extremely fast. It boosts your PC's performance in no time.

great for games
As always with Samsung SSDs, the quality is there. Admittedly, it's not as fast as the 990, but I use it as a gaming SSD, and it runs all my games without latency, slowdown or bugs. In particular, I'm running Cyberpunk 2077 in ultra, at full speed, with no problems whatsoever.
2TB should be standard in all PCs by 2024....
