Does not change the connection problem with the Surface Pro X

Purchased to connect my Surface Pro X directly to an external screen, as the Surface Pro X running Windows is unable to control the brightness and 'blue light' mode of the additional screen. So I wanted to test it by connecting it directly via this USB-C / DisplayPort cable.
I tried via a USB-C Hub (which has an HDMI port): doesn't work.
And no surprise with this cable: still no control over brightness and 'blue light' mode.
You had to at least try...

Otherwise, the cable seems solid. For the simple purpose of connecting a desktop PC to a screen, it should probably suit your needs.
