It is indeed very transparent, so choose its location carefully to ensure good visibility, otherwise it does the job properly.
(Purchased to replace connectors bought in a DIY superstore, which were completely impossible to fit properly – and I'm no beginner – unlike the models they offered a few years ago).
I received informed and relevant advice in shop and was able to place my order with complete peace of mind.
This connector is in two parts: the main part to be crimped and the sub-part where the wires of the RJ45 cable will have to be inserted one by one. If some brands still offer this type of connector, there is a minimum to guide the user (colour guide on the sub-part, highlighting of the different rows,...). With this product, you need a microscope to be able to insert one by one the wires of the network cable (the sub-part is completely transparent, impossible to see anything and yet I have a good view), and there is absolutely no information concerning the colour codes to know what you are doing... I regret this purchase...
I used these connectors for my home installation. The first 2, no problems, they worked straight away. The third one I redid 3 times before it worked fine, the connectors didn't press in well, but my crimping pliers are starting to wear out. Conclusion for the price and with a pair of pliers in good condition, it's all good.
The connectors are true to their part number, supplied with jumpers to slide the cables in without fuss. For those who don't want to spend 3 hours aiming at the end of the connector...this is the one!
