Delivered with Mint, but reinstalled with debian 12. Everything works perfectly.
In terms of use, it does the job of office/internet + watching videos, really well, and it's quite quiet. All in all, very good for this price and this use.
Very good value for money. Without OS, you'll have to install the sata drivers manually at the same time as Windows.
Received on time and as ordered, now I just need to test it and see how it performs over time.
Negative points:
- Poorly packed, with no additional kraft paper padding to block and cushion the laptop's box, so it bumps as it moves around in the larger box provided for delivery (along with the small packaging for the M2 SSD). The extra foam sheet in the laptop's original packaging would not withstand a shock, which would damage the screen, which is a real shame...
- the connections on the PC's mains connection transformer are quite thin (and therefore fragile), so much so that you have to be careful not to make a mistake.
- The USB ports are very (too!) 'tight', so much so that you hesitate when you don't know if the connector on the peripheral (USB key, etc...) is the right way round (and if you're not damaging it) and you have to force it to unplug it. I'm afraid this won't last very long...
- Screen backlighting not very discreet and quite visible, with slight vertical beams appearing at the bottom of the screen (which can detract from the depth of the black background colour when watching a film) [ to be followed over time...].
- Loudspeakers still lacked depth and sound power.
Positive points:
- Order received quickly, machine complies with description.
- Good value for money, very quick start-up (the Nvme hard drive is efficient), performance is up to scratch.
- This PC was designed for a Linux novice who had previously used a Mac, and who quickly adapted to using Linux Mint Cinnamon (a very ergonomic and simple system, according to the user!).
- The matt IPS panel is a nice touch.
- The keyboard keys are large enough and well spaced out; the numeric keypad is a real plus.
A decent machine for simple office use. However, there are a number of complaints:
- the SSD is an ultra-low-end Chinese model (Forsee XP1000F256G), with performance (1900 MB/s R - 1300 MB/s W) below the manufacturer's data.
- the wifi module (Intel 9462) is out of date (2017) and only works at 433 Mb/s (1x1). Fortunately, there is a 1 G LAN socket.
- the numeric section of the keyboard is a little confusing, with some keys reversed or even missing.
It would have been enough to invest a few euros more to provide the machine with a much more powerful SSD and Wi-Fi module. Finally, when you open the box, you get a strong and disturbing chemical smell.
PC ordered without system but Linux Mint installed (OEM mode).
I reinstalled it to get the required partitioning ("/" and "/home") as well as a file system that takes SSD disks into account (btrfs).
Very good performance for office, internet and multimedia. Not tested for computing but that's not its purpose.
Although there's a charger socket, the USB3 type C (oval) socket can be used for charging (with a Power Delivery compatible charger that supplies sufficient power). So you can put a dock on the Type C port to add a dual external screen, keyboard/mouse, network, card reader, etc. and charging (PD dock), all on a single socket.
Everything is functional: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, wired Ethernet (RJ45), headphone socket, additional function keys (blue on the keyboard: sound, brightness, etc.).
Note, however, that there is no 'enter' (return) key on the keyboard. In fact, on the keyboard layout, there is this key and no 'enter' key on the numeric keypad... but it's the latter that is returned by the keyboard manager. This can be a problem in some cases under Linux (text console), in which case you need to type Ctrl/M.
The screen is of good quality, very bright and stable. No dead pixels.

It works very well for my office, internet and e-mail use.
I installed Ubuntu on it without any problems.
The fan temperature curve on this PC cannot be modified and has been deliberately set too high by LDLC (70°C). There is no third-party software to detect and modify this.
As a result, in simple office use you'll be running at 60/70°C on average, with peaks at 80°C.
Their after-sales service dares to claim that overheating a component does not reduce its longevity, and will take you for a fool if you tell them otherwise.
Add soldered components that don't allow you to update them and you understand the attractive price: you've got equipment that you'll have to replace entirely once the slightest fault has appeared.
This is my first order in 5 years, and I've definitely had enough of this company with its haughty after-sales service and non-upgradeable products.
I've been using Debian Gnu Linux for 23 years and bought a laptop from LDLC 11 years ago and it still works great but I wanted something newer and more powerful. This is perfect!
Performance: Intel Core i3 + 8GB DDR4 + SSD = top for office/internet. Weight = light and easy to carry. Battery life = several hours with no worries. Price = more than fair (at least €100 less than the equivalent competitor). And last but not least, you can install Win11 yourself (another €100 less) because the drivers are supplied and it works perfectly straight away!
Good value for money. Used for office work and multimedia. The computer is responsive and gets the job done.

The computer itself is fine once you have installed the bone and everything you want but you forget to specify that this is not a computer without an OS, at the time of installing the bone, I realize that when starting there is linux mint, so I had to do several manip to remove the bone which slowed down the programming of the pc and once I have removed linux mint so I try to install windows with a bootable key but again a problem and this blow
This is the biggest problem, windows doesn't detect the touchpad so it's impossible to install windows without a mouse, so you need a mouse to be able to use the cursor and then after installing windows go to the LDLC site on the computer page and install the drivers so that the touchpad can work with windows.
Apart from that for the moment I haven't had any more problems, in terms of performance for multimedia, office, music nothing to say.
The battery does not last very long.

In terms of budget for a first computer for 2-3 years of use, it's worth it.

Pas de problème avec LDLC
I bought this PC as a gift for someone who does Internet browsing, and was quite surprised to find an i3 processor at this price and its responsiveness, so I tried using it for myself, installing Arch Linux.
The PC reacts very well and for simple operations such as WEB, SSH and other administration actions it is excellent.
The -
- The most annoying problem for me is that the Enter key does not exist on this PC !!!! The Enter key is the key on the numeric keypad, which means that under Linux, the graphical terminal interfaces don't understand that you want to validate, so you have to plug in a real keyboard to go through these steps. Such stupidity is incomprehensible...
- You can't swap the FN and Windows keys in the BIOS, which is complicated for some shortcuts.
- Marked IPS Glow (like all IPS screens, even top-of-the-range ones)
- Anaemic speaker sound

- Excellent battery, I got through my 1st day of installation without having to charge it!
- Very bright IPS screen (I use it at 15-20% in low-light environments)
- Extremely responsive, thanks to the Intel I3 and the NVMe SSD
Positives:

- Compatible with Windows 11 and Linux Mint
- Easy to install the Windows drivers supplied
- I use it for web browsing and video streaming. This PC can handle an external 5K screen in extended display mode (in addition to the original screen) via its USB C.
- Highly responsive, with applications launching almost instantly
- Quite a good rendering screen
Negative points :
- Speaker sound not great
- The special function pictograms (F1 to F12) are hard to make out from a distance or in low light. The same goes for the pictograms on the sides.
- Trackpad not very pleasant to use
This laptop is ideal for someone who uses the Internet and does a bit of office work. It's good enough for the average user.
Frankly, there's nothing to complain about! For the price, we've got a good device that's perfectly suited to simple office use and media viewing.
Surprisingly, the computer arrived pre-installed with Linux, even though I hadn't requested any OS, but all I had to do was format and reinstall the OS of my choice, and that was that.
Package received without any problems. I installed Windows 10 from a USB stick and everything works perfectly! Good value for money.
Perfect for classic use, word processing, messaging and surfing. Good-quality HD screen, ultra-fast (thanks to the SSD and I3) and completely silent. You won't find anything like it from the competition at this price.

Appearance 1: Screen
The LDLC SPC-I SPC-I3-8-240-N's screen is matt, which means it's not sensitive to reflections or sunlight. In direct sunlight, visibility remains excellent, which is a positive point for use outdoors or in bright environments.

Although the order was initially placed without an operating system, it's important to note that the laptop comes with Linux Mint pre-installed on a hard drive partition. I was expecting a slower machine given the specifications, but I'm rather surprised.
This little PC runs very well under Windows 11 pro for office tasks, which is a pleasant surprise.
Good buy for this use.
After receiving the PC quickly, getting started on Ubuntu Mint is ergonomic and looks a bit like Windows in terms of the layout of the desktop... I hadn't touched a Linux for 20 years, so it was nice. I installed (via the software library) and tested the PC with CAD software (Freecad) with a light assembly (150kb), no lag, I didn't have time to try with a 100MB file. The charging cable is a bit short for me, 50cm more would have been nice.
For the average user, it's fine. But for me, who wants to use a Peak system interface with PCanview, it's too laborious to install, Two Leads, for the drivers to implement on the command line and impossible to pair the com port with the software, so I switched to Windows 10. Installing it was an obstacle course. The hard drive could not be detected during installation despite the package supplied by LDLC (long live Intel generation 11).
After a quick phone call to technical support, they told me that ideally I should use the latest Microsoft image with the MediaCreationTool utility on their site, which I did. And then, miraculously, everything worked, thank you LDLC for the helping hand. As I had a licence key for my old image, I didn't have any problems.
Edit: once Windows has been installed, click on the "Drivers_Package" utility setup, all the drivers were installed at the same time.
On paper, the features are good for the price. But then what does it heat. At rest cpu at zero in a 23 degree room the cpu temperature is 50° as soon as you install software or an update you're at 80°.
Good delivered with Linux Mint (format then reinstall manjaro Linux in my case).
To access BIOS\UEFI: press delete on start-up.

For the keyboard, I want a qwerty. I just bought some key stickers elsewhere.
No reflection on the screen, so I can work with a window behind me.
Perfect for office work and a bit of development.
The only downside: the soldered Ram (no way to upgrade to 16GB ram).
But for this price range, it's still the best laptop I've seen.
The PC is fast and has good battery life BUT I couldn't get the sound and touchpad drivers to recognise either Windows 10 or 11.
So if you want a Linux-based machine, this could be an economical solution.
If you want to install Windows on it, don't bother.
I can't pair my laptop with my Epson printer via Wi-Fi. I have to connect it via cable.
I needed an additional laptop, delivered without an OS*, with an IPS screen as a requirement. It's the only one at such a price.
My only regret is that it has since dropped by €50!
Works perfectly under Windows 11P (the Windows drivers for the machine can be downloaded from the site). With the addition of an internal 1TB NVME M2 SATA disk.
*A Linux distribution is still present on it.
Very affordable laptop with all the minimum requirements for comfortable office work.
