This StarTech.com 4-Port USB-C Hub (5G4AC-USB-C-HUB) extends the connectivity of a computer equipped with a USB-C port by adding multiple USB-A ports, making it easy to connect peripherals such as keyboards, mice, drives or USB keys from a single host port. It is suitable for fixed workstations, shared environments and mobile users who want to easily manage multiple USB devices simultaneously. With transfer speeds of up to 5 Gbps, it delivers fast performance for most modern USB devices while remaining backward compatible with USB 2.0. It is powered by the USB bus and can be supplemented with an auxiliary USB-C power supply (sold separately) for higher-power devices. Each USB-A port can provide up to approximately 7.5W of power.
Installation is simple and requires no drivers thanks to plug-and-play operation. The hub is compatible with a wide range of operating systems, including Windows, macOS, Linux, ChromeOS, iPadOS and Android, and works in standard mode with USB-C or Thunderbolt/USB4 laptops. The integrated host cable (approximately 30 cm) improves the ergonomics of installation on a fixed or mobile workstation.
