With up to 660,000/120,000 random 4K read/write IOPS3 and endurance up to 2,900 TBW4, these drives provide a robust caching solution ideal for multi-user environments, without taking up 3.5-inch drive bays.
Specially designed for Synology systems
SSD caching improves system read/write performance by storing transient data on SSD drives to improve recovery efficiency and reduce recurring requests to primary storage. Data integrity is important, as cached data is constantly being moved around. Synology's Enterprise Series NVMe M.2 SSDs offer full data protection to ensure data integrity throughout the transfer path. The SNV5400 series drives feature a power loss protection circuit6 with dedicated capacitors. This prevents data corruption during abnormal shutdowns by ensuring that data being transferred is safely written to the NAND Flash memory. In addition, the firmware ensures a correct reboot the next time the power is switched on.
Synology M.2 NVMe SSDs are rigorously tested for compatibility with Synology systems after each technical change. Firmware and component changes are strictly managed to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
