Once connected to the network, the printer is operational. The scanner can be accessed directly from Ubuntu's Document Scanner application. What a pleasure, everything works on both sides, printing and scanning documents. I have no regrets whatsoever about my HP OfficeJet Pro 8500 multifunction colour printer (unable to scan double-sided and only to USB stick). It's a great way to regain your freedom and use FREE software.
Quick to get up and running. The printer and scanner work fine under Ubuntu 24.04.
Epson's installation script installs a printer driver (Ok) and a scanner driver (Ko, see https://askubuntu.com/questions/1521411/ubuntu-24-04-brscan-skey-and-libsane-issue).
Epson supplies .deb and .rpm files, but by its own admission the Epson Sav is totally incompetent for Linux...
Nevertheless, scanning is possible from SimpleScan, XSane and Vuescan.
