Very pleasantly surprised
I wanted to try out an XXL mat because I was fed up with my Asus ROG mat, which was always moving around. What's more, I wanted a mat that could cushion my new keyboard so that I could enjoy maximum silence. I chose this mat because it was one of the cheapest on the site and had a sober, not flashy design. I was expecting something average but nothing more.
Well, I'm not disappointed, and I'm even surprised! The mat is thicker than I'd imagined, so it's really heavy and consistent. As a result, it holds up well on the desk. What's more, because of its thickness, the mat doesn't have the horrible problem of being deformed when it comes out of the box like other mats, it lays flat on the desk straight away "without making any waves". It's ready to use as soon as it's unpacked.
The surface is soft and pleasant to the touch, which is what you expect from a mouse pad.
My old mouse pad was the ROG Strix Edge from Asus, and I much prefer this new G-LAB pad because of its thickness and the robust feel it gives.
I don't know if it will survive the washing machine the day I need to wash it, but given its price I wouldn't mind buying another one.
