Assembly instructions a little unclear.

A good product but beware of non-experts, the assembly diagram may not be clear enough for a novice.
The black tab is to be glued partly to a metal post of the windscreen. It acts as a ground.
Otherwise, it's not necessary. Integrates well and is easy to fit.
