I use this Raspberry as a work computer at home running Debian+Xfce with an M2 extension. I've been blown away by its capabilities. Unlike the Pi 4 range, windows, office work and even image editing are very fluid. Video playback is too, but only with videos encoded in x264 or older codecs, and preferably in 1920x1080 or below. Web browsing also works well, but you should avoid spending long periods on sites full of scripts and ads, such as AlloCiné, because that makes your processor work hard. Downloading files via a Bittorrent or aMule client is almost imperceptible.
In my home, in a poorly ventilated installation, the temperature ranges from 45°C at start-up to 85°C at full load.
As a home automation server, file server, audio player or office workstation, I think it's ideal.
Raspberry pi 5 bought to replace a pi 2B.
Much faster, perfect for a web/game server.
