  This adapter is very useful when in my case I have a Type C only charging cable or SSD box and need to plug them into a charger or computer that only has Type A ports.
  
  However, nowhere on LDLC or the manufacturer's website does it say that this dongle only supports 5 volts.
  In fact, my first adapter was shot when my mobile phone managed to negotiate 9 volts with the Fast Charging compatible charger.
  Since then, the dongle overheats as soon as it is plugged into a PC port, so trash it and recommend another one.
