I installed this TP-LINK PCI Express x1 Wi-Fi card in an SFF desktop PC.
It was immediately recognized by Windows, but you should not rely on this recognition.
It works, but it is preferable to visit the TP-LINK website to download the driver with reference v. 3.20 at the following address: https://www.tp-link.com/fr/support/download/tl-wn781nd/#Driver.
Indeed, the "made in" Windows driver overloads startup by trying to activate all the OS startup services, and you may notice slowdowns and other bugs after some logins to the Windows desktop.
As for Linux, I know from testing that under Ubuntu 24.04 and Debian 13, the chip is poorly recognized by both distributions; I have not tested it with Ubuntu 26.04.
Indeed, under the Linux distributions I have just mentioned, these same distributions leave a slew of logs that weigh down the distributions.
following a cut in the fiber cable at the beginning of July in my neighborhood due to the renovation of the housing.
I ordered the tp link tl wn781nd to access my emails and other things on my desktop PC.
the installation is quite quick.
Product offered by ldlc I was entitled to a discount thanks a eu my son is happy his computer works well good work ??????????
Compliant wifi card, easy to install and works very well.
Fast and efficient delivery.
I'd recommend it.
This little accessory is super easy to plug in.
I used it to put a very old computer back together, and now it picks up Wi-Fi with no problem!
There's nothing complex about installing it on WIN10.
I'm quite disappointed, nowhere on the product sheet does it say that the card only supports 2.4hz networks and not 5hz (faster speed). You have to buy an extra wifi adapter, which is great!
Frequently, I have to remove the aerial to stop lagering in my video game.

Does the job very well.
Good connection provided you are not too far from your router.
The connection tends to fluctuate beyond 10m.
I am very pleased with the quality of the equipment and the price. :)
The wifi is extremely limited with this card (0.5mo/s at 5 meters from the router :/) and it disconnects in an untimely manner (even after having assembled all the fixes I could find). I had bought it so as not to have to install an internet cable or go broke with one of the 50/100€ network cards, but obviously it's not working. I'm not sure if it's a good idea to buy a new one, but it's a good idea to buy a new one, and I'm not sure if it's a good idea to buy a new one.
I've been using it for a while now and it works well, easy to assemble, cheap, so it's perfect. Clean package, fast, nothing else to say, thanks LDLC
The throughput is low and chaotic. From 2.5 MB/s to 200 kb/s at four metres from the router. This is not very good.
Sometimes it disconnects but not often.
Recognized by default under Linux. A good point. Inexpensive. To be reserved for modest use. Even the stream under twich is sometimes slow. I would have taken a more reputable one.
Very easy to install, no driver to install which allows direct use, practical when using an ethernet cable is not possible.
Works very well. Simple installation, which required a restart of the PC for the device to be properly taken into account by the OS.
Data rate of 2 to 10 Mbits vs. 80 to 100 Mbis for another computer next door, with a different Wifi card. I do not recommend it.
The N 150 mbits standard is usually sufficient for an ADSL/VDSL connection, no need to switch to N 300 mbits...
- Reception at 5/5 at about 2m from the ORANGE box located in another room, - Conforming data rate ( 36mbits reception - 10 mbits sending on speed test )
- The card is perfectly recognized with generic WIN10 drivers.
- Installation of the drivers without problems but no software other than the drivers on the CD.
- Mounting with the supplied low-profile bracket on an unused PCI 16X slot (the card only plugs into the first third of the slot)
For the price, nothing to say
It's the second one I've bought and for internet use (search, YouTube, etc.) it's perfect. Easy and quick installation. Sent in a bubble wrap by LDLC.
Does its job Wi-FI
No disconnections so far, so I'm quite happy with the product.
No faults and with an attractive price, I don't see why I should take another Wi-Fi card than this one :)
At this price, this card does its job perfectly. I can't say anything about its maximum performance, my connection doesn't allow me to reach it, but the reception of the signa on the floor with box downstairs is correct. The ability to emit a Wi-Fi field can be useful to manage a local mini-network in a room, but is clearly not essential from my point of view.
Conclusion:
Perfect for standard office use, especially given the almost negligible price.
Poor reception quality, catastrophic increase in machine boot time (under Windows 7). No disconnections noted however (tested on a temporary machine, so did not have time to test on a very long term basis). It is not the best product in the TP-Link catalogue
Nothing to say about LDLC as usual
I installed it 2 months ago in my new tower, it suits me perfectly!
It does its job perfectly, in terms of transfer speed and good network connection.
In short, I am very satisfied!
Installation more than easy, a child could do it;)
I am in a flat and use Windows 7.
I recommend this product.
I'm very pleased with the quality of this product and I'm very pleased with the quality of this product.
I have just put it on my pc it is easy to install
I've just put it on my PC and it's easy to install, but it doesn't pick up much WI-FI. I'm 6 meters from my box and it picks up 3 bars but it only delivers 100KB/s and that's not from my box because I can pick up with my laptop.
