Apple's entry-level iPhone, the SE does the job. It's smaller than other iPhones that have grown too big, and takes up less space in your hand or pocket. So much for chopping-board-sized screens. Admittedly it doesn't have as many functions as the much more expensive models, but it's more than good enough for just about everything a normal person needs to do on a daily basis, including taking good photos. I do regret the fact that the Lightning connector has been retained, rather than the more universal and practical USB-C.
For those who don't want to use a smartphone for 'professional' purposes, the SE is the solution for staying within the Apple ecosystem without breaking the bank and still enjoying good performance.
The big drawback is the camera, which is still a little weak at 12mpx, but the software's portrait mode makes up for it a little. Low light isn't great either! As for the rest, it's fluid, even with I don't know how many apps running in the background, and the battery keeps me going all day without flinching.
Obligatory case, with this glass back... it helps to hide the red of the version (RED) which was the only one available when I needed it!
