The computer overheats at the slightest touch. A fibre download? It heats up, a game in Ultra? It literally melts. I had to set the settings to high, or even MEDIUM, to avoid playing in an oven because the computer heats up the room with its fans.
And of course, I have NEVER HEARD such a racket. 65 decibel at 60 cm from the tower.
Powerful, yes, but unbearable...
Run away...
It's here at last, considering the current market and the stocks of graphics cards. I thought that the easiest way was to take a PC that was already built to replace my old 7 year old configuration. This alienware on paper was very convincing, then I had the naive idea to tell me that it would be easier a pc built / assembled by a pro company. I was disappointed. The first thing I noticed was the noise of the fans, almost as loud as an old hoover. The cpu goes up to 100 degrees after a game session and I'm talking about a game session of 15 min max without pushing the settings to the limit, it hurts for a so-called "gamer" configuration. I'm not sure how much of a problem it is, but I'm sure it's a good idea to have a look at it and see if it's a good idea to have a look at it, and if it's a good idea to have a look at it. The PC is a heavy one (almost 18kg):
It may surprise you to hear the fans go up in the towers at times, but this only happens when the processor or graphics card is under heavy load.
Inside, it's serious!
- HDD assembly (2 bays 2,5' + 1 bay 3,5') without screws.
- Only one SAT-A connector for 3 ports on the motherboard.
- Support foot for graphics card (considering the size, it is better)
- The power supply offset arm which gives full access to the motherboard
- 2 x 16GB dual channel slots
- Very good layout of the spaces. Massive but well managed cabling.
On the performance side: A workstation that has fun running games in ULTRA without batting an eyelid.
- The I9 (with its 10 cores) keeps all its promises. It is very responsive and fast.
- The 32GB of Ram at 3200Mhz makes you dizzy. Big calculations (realistic 3D rendering, animations) and loading (open-world games or big cards such as FF XV or GTA V) run so fast!
The RTX 3080: what can I say? .... I can't see how to make it work without putting unreasonable demands on it.
- Tools such as "Alienware Command Center" or "Killer Center Control" allow precise control and management of the different organs and parameters of the computer (Fans, CG O/C, Sound, LEDs, bandwidth). All of this can be customised according to the application or use in progress.
Although not for every budget, this computer is nevertheless up to my expectations and delivers on all its promises.
I was very pleased with the service and the quality of the product.
The computer corresponds perfectly to my expectations. The graphics card ventilates a bit hard, but it is not annoying.
The games run in Ultra, Blender has taken on a new dimension and the video editing in 4k runs perfectly.
