I went from a 3090 to a 5090. from 2x to 2.5x performance.
obtained at 2349€.
I train and infer AI mainly. and play occasionally.
it's the 32GB of VRAM that pushed me to upgrade and ignore the 4090, in AI memory is the sinews of war: if you don't have enough, you're finished. (The 96GB RTX pro 6000 isn't available :/ )
RISKS :
it's very heavy, which may crack the circuit at the PCIe connection over time.
The power connector is extremely fragile and electrically very dubious. 575W in 6 small wires AWG16 in 12V leaves very little margin of safety and no shunt resistor will prevent the card from melting in the event of uneven current distribution because NVIDIA has removed them from the design.

The card is the best on the market :) excellent service from LDLC, super fast delivery in 2 days.
Order received within the time indicated, no problems to report, the rtx 5090 msi ventus oc works perfectly, it is very quiet even under full load.
Despite an indication that the card would be available within 15 days, I had to call again after 1 month (for the situation to be resolved within 24 hours). Apart from this logistical "snag", the card I received is the right one and works perfectly.
So far so good, excelent price and nice delivery from website. Arrived fast and ok.
It's pretty cool temps.
It's undoubtedly one of the best graphics cards around, but it's a shame the price is so high because of Nvidia's catastrophic stock management.
Card ordered on 23 April and received yesterday 14 May, at a price of 2700 €.
Don't hesitate to make a clean installation!
I'm switching from an RTX 3080 Ti and the gain in performance is there, but the gain in visual rendering in games is less.
Very quiet card.
The power cable supplied with it is too short to be connected directly to the power supply.
I'm satisfied, but I didn't get the 'kick' I was hoping for.
When I use this GPU at full load, it **crashes systematically**. As soon as I reduce the quality of the games, it works normally. After several updates, a complete reset of the PC, and a diagnosis carried out in the LDLC shop (120 €), it was **impossible to identify the cause** of the problem.
So I bought an **ASUS ROG ASTRAL LC OC 5090**, and the problem immediately disappeared. I think it was clearly **due to poor build quality** of the first GPU.
So I **sent back this GPU**, which presumably **is not fully compatible with my setup**.
It looks a lot less plastic than it does in the photos, and we're looking at a robust construction. The look won't please everyone. Efficient, silent cooling.
After all, it's a 5090, so there's nothing better on the market right now. But the prices are horrendous, even for this reasonably priced model. Even at MSRP, graphics cards have been a mess for a few years now. They're selling a 'PRO' card that isn't really a card at all (despite everything we've seen/read) at an unjustifiable price. One star less for that.
Nothing to say about the graphics card the temperatures are very good on assassin's Creed Shadow blocked at 60 fps I am between 35 and 45 degrees in native 185watt beyond 100 fps it passes from 60 to 65 degrees anyway I have never exceeded this temperature and no problem with the cable also what I recommend is a good case and good ventilation for info I have a Nzxt 6 with noctua and phanteck.
Only negative point even if I got it at the price and msrp well it's the price there is at least 400 € too much hence this stars less
I previously had a 4090, also from LDLC. This card is a little smaller and thinner. However, temperatures are still OK and it is possible to reduce the voltage by 5-10 degrees without compromising performance. I'm delighted that LDLC are stocking decent 5090s at good prices. This one in particular was at the recommended retail price for Switzerland. I am very pleased with the overall experience and availability of stock from LDLC at correct prices.
When stocks are replenished, it's a safe bet that this card will be available at its MSRP, so at the same price as a Founders Edition. For this price, you get a card that may not be as pretty, but it's quieter and better cooled. It reaches 75°C on 3DMark with the fans at 50%, a speed at which they can barely be heard. Most of the time in games, temperatures are between 60 and 70°C and the fans below 30%, where they are completely inaudible. I'm glad I took it rather than a FE.
The card works perfectly, it's not missing any ROPs.
It runs at a maximum of 75C for the GPU and 61C for the VRAM, so it's perfect.
I ordered it the day after the release and was therefore able to get it at the MSRP of 2350€, but I don't recommend it for the current price of 2700€ as there is no reason other than lack of stock. Thank you nVidia ;) for this catastrophic launch.
