The first two years, it worked fine, then it started to bug around the third year, it's not a solid product, plus I didn't use it often because I already had another external hard drive.
To tell you the truth, I have an external hard drive of the same brand but bigger that lasted more than 10 years, that I bought in 2012, and it still works, I have the impression that the smaller external hard drives are, the more fragile they are.
I've used it for 3 years, so I can't say it's a bad product, but its lifespan is low, especially if you use it a lot.
For more than three decades I've been using a lot of WD hard drives, first internally in towers and even as replacements in laptops as well as in my external back-up boxes, until the appearance of the 1TB My Passport and then the metal-cased My Passport Ultra 2TB: to date I've never had a problem with any of my HDDs and that's why I picked up this Ultra 4TB model.
Obviously, I don't have time to waste checking whether the transfer rates are as advertised (which, given the reviews I've read, seems to be the case), but as far as I'm concerned they do a good job at a speed that suits me and, above all, they keep my back-ups safe.
For the record, before making this purchase I had previously bought a SDD SanDisk Extreme PRO 2Tb which didn't 'wow' me with its speed, even on a USB 3-2 port, and which doesn't inspire enough confidence in me for my type of use.
I'll be using it as a 'big' USB flash drive...

I have received my dd and I think it is expensive for a hard drive especially as the transfer rate is slow. In my opinion this hard drive is good for people who are not in a hurry thank you.
A good hard drive with a robust finish that works well in both C and A with the adapter. Great value for money!
No surprise with WD. The drive is fast, good grip, perfectly silent operation, fast reading and writing, instant installation.

No surprise with Western Digital. The drive is fast, quiet, good grip and what's not to spoil anything, it is beautiful with its 1/2 metal shell. No surprise with the LDLC service. Always perfect. packaging, efficiency, delay.
I've been using it for a while now, but I'm not sure if it's a good idea to use it with a laptop or not.
The USB power supply requires a bit of power, I did not manage to make it work on my USB hub, which is probably not sufficiently powered by my Surface tablet. The same hub with a slightly larger laptop solved the problem.
A good product
A good external drive with capacity (actually less than 4TB advertised), solid and very useful for archiving / backup. The USB - C interface is a plus, although I expected higher transfer rates. Use with Linux and Window$.
BUT the hard disk is not really 4Tb but 3.63Tb... otherwise the product corresponds to my expectations...
