It improves bass while reducing floor and wall vibrations and sound artefacts. It also allows you to avoid complaints from neighbours or flatmates. Decoupling a subwoofer from the floor gives you cleaner, more accurate bass. It's also the ideal solution after sound insulation, ideal for rooms with carpet, wooden floors or any space subject to vibration.
